It does not only drain a person emotionally, but can spark a bitter hatred when material matters are disputed. We understand that these emotional situations arise and are able to give sensitive help at the correct time. West & Rossouw's entertainment & media law department was established in response to a demand for specialised experience in these areas on the part of our existing clients, and the music and entertainment industry as a whole.

We have developed sought-after expertise in the legal minefield of staging large live music events such as the Huisgenoot/You Skouspel music concerts and other established live music events. In addition, we have established good relationships with various role players in the music and recording industry and the firm now represents recording artists, recording labels and studios as well as music and artist agencies and publishers. The firm’s experts have worked on recording and joint venture agreements with most major labels. The skills and experience developed in this regard are truly rare as this area of expertise has previously fallen in the hands of specialised firms only.
